According to their visor data their target would be three kilometers out from their emergence point. Focusing on the task at hand the still shy student followed the lead of the most experienced of all students through the underbrush toward the human base. Data feed began sending Feathuriel critical mission data on her visor, position, environment conditions, the location of her destination, life status of her squad mates. They were under a starry sky on a rocky outcrop, lit by two large moons in the sky. Through a webway portal in the Shrine they stepped slowly, the whole sight changing.
Taking her Deathspinner in both hands she gripped it firmly. Soon her features as a being would dissapear under the Warp-Spider combat armour, she would no longer be Feathuriel Dawnweaver but Khaine's Wrath. Her robes were removed by attendants and the wraithbone plates of her armour were strapped into place. Nodding to herself she prepared for the ritual. It had to be some other way to escape without leaving a trace and she knew it. She was taught unnecessary killing is pointless, yet now she was asked to leave no survivors. With a mere nod, they all confirmed they had understood but now thoughts overwhelmed Feathuriel's mind. We cannot allow the humans to track you down. Once they are safe in the Webway wipe all traces of your presence. Use what you have been taught, infiltrate the human base-camp and liberate our Kin. A few of our brothers and sisters from a Guardian unit have been captured by the Humans from the Imperium of man, by the Dreaded Death Watch none the less. Some students frowned, some displayed a fearful gaze but all remained unflinching before the Exarch, allowing him to continue "You will don the Warp Spider Armour with all the ritual required and you will partake your mission. He paused a mere moment looking at each student, as if making sure they were ready to continue and nodded "This final task will be dangerous like no other for you will go into combat with our enemies and I do not expect you all to return". You must pass your final trial, young ones, to show you are worthy of your title as Warp Spiders.".
Turning toward them as they lined up, the old Exarch spoke quietly "You are the best, you were the best but you have one step left. Followed by his twelve trainees he stopped before it, raising his arms he whispered a prayer to Khaine, repeated zealously by Feathuriel and the others.e With a delicate motion of his hand the Exarch encouraged the Trainees to rise as he moved without a sound toward the Altar of the Aspect Shrine.
Along other she had been carefully educated, trained, tested over and over again and remained among the few to become Warp Spiders.
To the young Eldar gathered there he looked like the incarnation of a Deity, an example to follow, a leader and a surrogate parent.ĭedicated since childhood to the Path of the Warrior Feathuriel had barely known her parents as she grew in the Aspect Shrine on her Craftworld. Moving a braid of nearly white blond hair out of her face she took in a deep breath as the Altar doors opened, and the Exarch Rakanis stepped forward, glad in ornamented Black and White robese. Soon it would be her time to pass her trials and become a fully fledged Aspect Warrior though she had barely reached her 110th year of life.eīristling with anticipation her blue eyes looked at each fellow trainee, studying their expression curiously, still a part of the child she once was living inside her. Only a single symbol distinguished her from other citizens, the Rune of the Warp Spider aspect, sewn with golden string onto the left sleeve of her garment. Sitting on the white floor of the Aspect Shrine, along with other trainees the young maiden, Feathuriel Dawnweaver waited, robed in the traditional red and white garments of her Craftworld.
